During the last week of September, DeMatha Catholic High School welcomed a group of French international students for an awesome cultural exchange. The visiting students got to hang out with their American peers, join classes, and explore our school.
Fr. Albert shared his excitement about the exchange, saying, “It’s been a wonderful experience for our students and their French counterparts. This program not only fosters friendships but also enhances our understanding of different cultures.”
During their stay, the French students participated in classes and activities, really getting a feel for how school is done here. They even traveled to New York City to see important sites like the 9/11 Memorial and the Statue of Liberty, learning a lot about American history along the way.
They also took a trip to Washington, D.C., where they visited the U.S. Capitol and the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, which helped them understand our country’s values and history.
Looking ahead, DeMatha is planning to send some of our own students to France for a similar experience. They’ll get to dive into French school life and see some cool sights while they’re there.
As this exchange program keeps growing, both DeMatha and the French school are excited to strengthen their international friendships and learn from each other.
