On Saturday, October 19, DeMatha will host its annual homecoming dance which has many features that attract students. This dance not only welcomes students from DeMatha but also from their sister school Seton and many others.
With this big homecoming, Senior and SGA Vice President Hayden Walsh said that there will be some floor changes. In previous years, the Convocation Center floor has always been split in half making one side the dance floor and the other the activities side. But this year the dance floor will be in the center of the floor bringing in a new setup that returning students may not recognize.
With the dance there is also the game on Friday night. Walsh also said “This year is to try to get as many people to the game and homecoming itself and make sure everyone has a good time.” He and the SGA are accomplishing this goal as he mentioned that they are “close to selling out tickets so this is going to be DeMatha’s biggest homecoming ever.”
With anticipation building around the dance students that are attending are starting to feel excited with it coming up. When asked about how he was feeling with the dance coming up Junior Will Dougherty said “I’m feeling good, a little nervous but it’ll be fun.” Dougherty and many other students are ready to have fun and have good expectations for the dance.
This year’s homecoming weekend for DeMatha is supposed to be the best and biggest in years as the focus according to Walsh is to bring people and have fun.
