The Philadelphia Eagles crushed the Kansas Chiefs with a score of 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, preventing The Chiefs hopes for a third straight championship win. Led by an impenetrable defense, to include Cooper DeJean who had six sacks on Patrick Mahomes, the Eagles controlled the game from the start.
Jalen Hurts, who was named Super Bowl MVP, threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another as the Eagles built an almost historic 24-0 lead by halftime. Saquon Barkley, who is arguably the best running back in the game this season, contributed to 57 rushing yards which broke Terrell Davis single-season rushing record.
Patrick Mahomes, QB of the Chiefs, struggled under pressure throughout the whole game. Throwing two interceptions, including his first career playoff pick-6, was one of the many challenges Mahomes faced during the game. The Chiefs attempted a comeback late in the 4th quarter, however, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Eagles.
The Philadelphia Eagles secured their second Super Bowl Championship win in franchise history. The Eagles head coach, Nick Sirianni, silenced the many haters with a dominant performance. The Eagles are eagerly preparing for another successful season, with hopes of securing a third Super Bowl Championship.
