The following was submitted for review the evening of Tuesday, September 16.
This Tuesday, the Soccer Stags will face the Good Counsel Falcons in an exciting conference match up.
DeMatha has had a solid start to their season and as each game passes, they are looking better and better. It doesn’t seem like it will stop with their game against Good Counsel.
DeMatha has a lot of young exciting players this year who have been putting on a show. Two standout players this season have been sophomore center-back Anthony Portillo and sophomore winger Kelsey Carr. Anthony has been looking very sharp this season and has been consistently putting up great performances on defense. “The team is looking pretty good. We had a rough start to pre-season, but throughout the games we’ve been playing really well and I think we can put up a fight against Good Counsel,” Anthony said.
Kelsey said, “I have a good feeling about this game and I know we will perform well.” Anthony echoed those thoughts, predicting a 3-2 Stags victory
This is going to be a great game as Good Counsel seeks revenge, hosting the Stags who beat them 3-2 in their last matchup.
Addendum: The Stags played Good Counsel to a 2-2 draw Tuesday evening.
