The Stags added a new hockey coach to help them with their upcoming 2025-2026 season. Coach Ronan Pleszkoch was a student-athlete here at DeMatha from the fall of 2016 until his graduation in the spring of 2020. While studying at DeMatha, he played on the hockey team in the winters.
One of the newest additions to the DeMatha hockey team’s coaching staff, Coach Pleszkoch is also an intern at DeMatha this year. He attended the University of New Hampshire after his time as a student. After he is done being a teacher and coach here at DeMatha, whenever that time comes, he plans on going to a Catholic school in Boston and becoming a teacher there.
Coach Pleszkoch isn’t the only one of his family members that is currently at DeMatha. This is because he is joining his uncle, Mr. McConnell, who is one of the chairs of the English department.
Sophomore Luke Foley, who has had him as a substitute, said, “The coach is a very chill guy and I really like him.” Luke also says, “I really like him as a coach, he seems to know what he’s doing and what he’s talking about.”
Coach Pleszkoch says, “I am excited to help out this year with the hockey team.” He is also looking forward to helping students learn here at DeMatha.
