Lacrosse season is months away, with the regular season expected to begin in March. Preparation starts early, though, and students on the team are already hitting the turf.
Right now, players are in the midst of their offseason workouts, the preliminary stages of trying out for the team. Freshman James Suntum says, “Lacrosse is going really well. I like everybody on the team and I’m excited to play with them.”
Players are working on their chemistry and they are doing conditioning and exercises for the upcoming season. Sophomore defender James LaDow says, “The workouts are very tough, but it keeps me focused on the big picture of winning the WCAC championship.”
There is a lot of excitement for the lacrosse program right now. Last year the team went 15-4, including a near-perfect 11-1 record in league play. The season culminated in a 15-7 victory over St. Mary’s Ryken in the WCAC title game, securing the program’s first league championship since 2009.
