As the school year comes to a close, seniors are going through their final preparations before they are sent off to experience the outside world.

Graduation is a significant occasion and will become an important part of one’s own story. Graduation represents change, development, and the beginning of new adventures throughout the years. It can help one to reflect on everything they have accomplished thus far and the memories that is has provided.

DeMatha is holding two graduation practices, one at DeMatha which took place last week, and the other at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, which will be conducted on June 1.

Mr. Bright, senior counselor, said, “We hold practices so that the guys know how the ceremony runs but also to practice different aspects of the graduation as well as Baccalaureate Mass.”

Next week, senior college prep sessions are taking place. These are held in order for college counselors to get all the last information from seniors about their college decisions, including where they are going to enroll.

The majority of the time, college prep sessions are used for questions and answers where current seniors are able to talk and ask questions to recent alumni about life in college.

Graduation will take place on June 3 at the Basilica of the National Shrine, marking the finish line for the Class of 2022 as the Class of 2026 prepares to develop into DeMatha men.
