Being a DeMatha athlete is already time consuming but doing the extra things, such as stretching, prove to be beneficial towards some people. Stretching loosens your muscles and can help you get in lower positions which proves to be very beneficial for sports like football and basketball.

One of my teammates Jeremiah says stretching is beneficial towards his body and has helped him for the upcoming season. Jeremiah states. “I use many stretches and yoga poses to help my flexibility for practice and games.” During the season Jeremiah had back problems but since using methods like yoga he has alleviated it.

Another one of my classmates says stretching benefits him and others too. He says, “stretching helps with maintaining longevity in your sport.” With this he is able to play much more and longer without the fear of injuries and soreness. This could also help certain people when they get further into their sports career (college) and they are still as athletic when young.

Stretching proved to be beneficial for the human body and my classmates agree as they can directly relate to instances where stretching has helped them.
