Jacob Wallace who is a Senior at Dematha Catholic High School is a special type of athlete! Jacob plays on both the varsity Football and Basketball teams starring on both teams. On the court Jacob is the basketball teams starting point guard controlling the pace of the offense and picking up 94 feet on defense “ Making sure I’m being a vocal leader, since I’m a point guard everybody will look to me if they don’t know what to do and I need to be ready to help them”. Wallace holds multiple D1 offers from schools like Hampton, Njit, Howard and many other mid to high major schools. “ Just truly blessed that coaches want someone like me to be the lead guard of their college team, it means a lot,” said Wallace. Jacob also was just selected to be a McDonald’s All American Nominee “ to be named along with my teammates and other great players, truly a great honor” Jacon also excels on the football field as the teams starting defensive back” I think playing both sports help with each other I can use stuff I used in basketball and apply it to football and vice versa. Wallace was chosen to be first team All-Met, first team All WCAC,and WCAC first team all defense. “ it’s a pleasure to be recognized alongside amazing players in both sports.” Jacob holds multiple D1 offers in football as well from schools like USF, Marshall, West Virginia, Howard, and Temple. Jacob Wallace being a 2 sport star is very impressive but even more impressive is his gpa off the court and field. Jacob holds a 3.3 in the classroom. “Making sure I go to Ms. Phalen daily to stay on top of my work and never get behind. Wallace will look to commit to a school in the next couple of months but we know whoever gets Jacob will be getting a star!
