Charles Thomas III, a graduating senior on the DeMatha Varsity basketball team last season, stood out as one of the team’s most vocal leaders. Throughout the season, Charles was instrumental in the team’s success, leading the team in blocks and contributing significantly to most of the games. The Stags’ season didn’t end as they had hoped, but when asked about it, Charles said, “I wouldn’t have wanted to go through my senior season with any other team.”
Charles received WCAC honorable mention honors towards the end of the season. “It was a blessing to be recognized for all the hard work I put in during the off-season,” Charles said. In addition to the WCAC honorable mention, Charles also received a McDonald’s All-American game nomination. “That was truly a blessing to be considered and have the opportunity to play in the game with all those great players and my teammates,” Charles said.
Charles has received numerous offers from various schools to play Division 1 basketball. “I just want to continue to weigh out my options to make sure I make the best decision for myself and my basketball journey,” says Charles. Charles is believed by many to be a versatile player who excels in various aspects of the game. Numerous fans and supporters believe that regardless of the college he chooses, he will be a significant contributor to both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
