Odell Beckham Jr just signed with the Baltimore Ravens this off season. He signed with the Ravens on a 1-year deal for 15 million dollars. They added Beckham to help Lamar Jackson because of the lack of production from the receivers. Beckham does not have a great history of injuries and the Ravens took a risk by signing him for such a big contract. So far this season he has not had a great start. In weeks 1 and 2 he only had a combined 66 yards.
“Odell doesn’t have good durability, and he breaks too easily. Also, seeing him play you can tell he’s slower than he was even before the ACL injury he had in the Super Bowl with the Rams. He’s also really overpaid, as they tried getting him as a top receiver on their team, but he can’t play much due to getting injured so much,” said junior Sam Fufa. In Week 2, Beckham had an ankle injury and was not able to return for weeks 3 and 4. In Week 5 he struggled and only had 13 yards and followed it up with a 34-yard performance in London. His injury still seems to be bothering him.
Rookie Zay Flowers for the Baltimore Ravens has had a very good start to the season with 367 yards through six games. “Odell has been a good addition to the Ravens by helping mentor Zay Flowers into an elite wide receiver,” said junior Brandon Smoot. It is unknown if Beckham will bounce back this season but currently, his situation is not very good.
