As the Golden State Warriors embark on their hopeful NBA Championship run, we should take a look at the way they are dismantling the young and prosperous Dallas Mavericks.

Golden State, led by three-time NBA champion and two-time MVP Stephen Curry and coach Steve Kerr, took a promising 3-0 lead and, while the Mavericks avoided the sweep on Tuesday night, will look to end the series on their home court on Thursday.

The Warriors are outscoring, out-defending, and outplaying the Mavericks. Stephen Curry leads the Warriors, averaging around 29 points per game for the series, and has been the X-Factor between the two teams.

The shining star throughout the Mavericks’ horrific start to the series has been third year player Luka Dončić, who has put the Mavericks team on his back and has been the consistent piece for the team.

One of the bright spots breaking through for the Warriors is center Kevon Looney, who has put up impressive numbers and has jolted the team in a positive way. Head coach Steve Kerr said about Looney, “I just think it’s time that people recognize his impact on the game.”

The Mavericks used a hometown spark to avoid the sweep and now look to steal a game on the road to put the series back in reach.
