Freshman Stags are now 2-2 and having a very solid season despite the 2 losses. The freshman team had a big game yesterday against our WCAC rivals Gonzaga. Going into the game they were super pumped but the game didn’t come out in their favor. The stags defense came out to play, and followed in the footsteps of the two older stags teams and by playing great. They held the Gonzaga Eagles scoreless the entire game. The final score was 6-0. But on the other side of the ball the offense didn’t play so great. Offense had 4 turnovers and still only lost by one possession. The only touchdown of the game was a pick six by Gonzaga in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. They can be a really good football team if they can come together as an offense, but they have plenty of time to get right since they have a bye week next week. They plan to come back stronger against Dunbar on the 20th of October at six o’clock. They are playing away but that won’t stop them as the quarterback is playing with a chip on his shoulder.
