The DeMatha Stags are very well-known for producing some of the best athletes regardless of the sport. It is very common for a lot of those players go on to play at the highest level of their sport and become very successful. Victor Oladipo 10’, is currently the only basketball player to be representing DeMatha in the NBA Playoffs. He played a major role with the Miami Heat as they became only the fifth 8th seed to win a first round series against a one seed after facing off against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Oladipo 10’ is in his ninth season in the National Basketball League. He was drafted number two overall in the 2013 NBA Draft to the Orlando Magic. He has had a stellar career so far. So far, he has represented six different NBA teams, those teams doing the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers, Houston Rockets, and now currently the Miami heat.

Oladipo has proven himself time and time again as a great person and has shown how much of a hard worker he is.  It is these characteristics that have helped him get through multiple injuries. As of recently, Oladipo 10’ suffered a torn left patellar tendon in his left knee. This will sideline him for the rest of the playoffs. Even though this is very tough, he has been through many serious injuries in the past and continues to bounce back strongly, and we don’t see that changing. The DeMatha community sends prayers to Victor Oladipo as we wish him a speedy recovery!
