DeMatha is holding its yearly Toy Drive again this December, and students and teachers are excited to help children in need. DeMatha started the Toy Drive to make sure every child in the community can have a happy holiday even if their family is struggling.
Sophomore Raphael Bland is excited to participate in the Toy Drive this year. “I think it is an important way to show kindness and support,” Raphael says. His classmate, Malik Menzie, adds, “I think that it is good that we are giving out to the people in need.”
Sophomore counselor Ms. Stockton says, “We love to give back to the community. It’s the DeMatha spirit.”
The Toy Drive helps by giving families free toys and daily necessities. These gifts can bring joy to children and take stress off parents during the holiday season. Many students enjoy donating because they know they are making a difference by helping.
DeMatha hopes this year’s Toy Drive will collect even more toys than last year, and the school encourages everyone to give what they can.
