Swim season has started and the Stags are starting off hot with a 2-0 record to begin the winter.
The team’s first meet was against Bishop McNamara and St. Anselm’s at Trinity Washington University. The Stags beat both schools soundly, McNamara by a score of 138.5-17.5 and St. Anselm’s by a score of 140-17.
Sophomore Alex Adebiyi raced the 200 IM (individual medley) and the relays. “It was easy,” he said of the team’s first competition. The squad hopes to go undefeated throughout the entire season, expressing confidence with the crew they have this year.
The DeMatha swim team will be back in action the Tuesday after Thanksgiving before a mid-December trip to North Carolina. They are off to a hot start. With about 20 more meets to go it’s going to be a grind, but the stags will pull through.
